Week 5 and counting...

We are halfway through week five!! We had our first ultrasound today and got to see Baby Groves. Everything looks perfect and right on track. Baby Groves is only the size of a sesame seed but is already developing the chambers of the heart, organs, and tissue.

I am still super tired and experiencing some mild heartburn but no nausea yet. I came home the other night craving chicken wings and Nick was happy to take me out for a dozen boneless wings! I got through five and was over it...just wanted a taste:)

We are getting excited to tell our families but have decided to wait two more weeks until we hear the heartbeat. What an exciting day that will be!!!!

My latest DIY project from Pinterest is a homemade chalkboard. We bought a empty frame and used chalkboard spray paint. It turned out better than I expected and I am going to use it for weekly updates! It will be a fun way to share!!

Doctor says its official!

I hate needles!!!! Funny how I volunteered to have blood drawn twice in 48 hours to make sure hormone levels were rising properly and get confirmation there is truly a tiny human in there.
Apparently this wasn't confirmation enough.....

Feeling really good so far...just very tired. I am lucky to make it to 9:00pm. Nick is awesome....he has already started helping with more around the house and hasn't made me cook all week. We are still celebrating with dinners out....but no drinks for this mama!!

We're Pregnant!!!

Although VERY planned this was still a surprise.....I tested on a Friday afternoon and was shocked to see those two beautiful pink lines. Nick wasn't due home for a few more hours, still in disbelief I "held it" for a few more hours and took a digital hpt....PREGNANT!!!

I am terrible at keeping secrets....especially the super wonderful really awesome kind.....I wrapped up the test and stuck it in this pretty little box with a handy dandy window to surprise Nick when he came home.

He was so excited!! After a lot of hugging and kissing, he told me it was disgusting I gave him a gift I had peed on. HA!

If he thinks that is disgusting, he is in for a real treat.....visions of dirty diapers and vomit pop into my head.
