23 Weeks down....17 to go!!

Baby girl is moving around every day. When I finally stop and relax at the end of the day is when I feel her the most. It is my favorite part of the day!! She can hear music and our voices so I find myself talking to her throughout the day.

How far along? 23 weeks

Total weight gain: 12lbs....but now they say you should gain 1 pound a week...scary!

Maternity clothes? Oh yes!!!

Stretch marks? No

Sleep:  Actually getting up less to use the restroom in the middle of the night...it's so nice:)

Best moment this week:  Picking a name!!!

Miss Anything?  I missed a cold beer in the 90 degree weather this weekend.

Movement:  She is in there kicking and punching!

Food cravings:  Ice Cream!!! (strawberry)

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope

Gender:  100% girl!!

Labor Signs:  No way Jose!

Symptoms: swollen feet at the end of the day...not ready to pack up the high heels yet though.

Wedding rings on or off? on

Happy or Moody most of the time: Very happy.

Looking forward to: Having her furniture arrive!

 

We registered this weekend at Babies R' Us. It was such an overwhelming and slightly stressful process. Who knew there were 50 types of bottles?!?  We jumped ahead to the fun stuff....stroller, pack n' play, bath supplies. The "registry consultant" assured us that most couples have to take 2-3 trips to the store before completing their list.

 

This weekend I didn't get to enjoy the sunshine or work on my tan like I had hoped...the 95 degree weather was just a little too much for me. Really hoping this wasn't a preview of our summer....

I snapped this picture of Nick and his dad (sitting exactly the same) filling up water balloons. Couldn't help but think how totally cool it is that we pick up these characteristics from our parents. Wonder what baby girl will mimic from Nick and I??

This adorable tu-tu skirt was a gift from our friends Amy and Greg. Of course, it has a precious onesie to match. I have a feeling she will LOVE this!!!

 

 

One Whole Pound

Baby girl and I are rapidly growing. We went to the doctor on Tuesday and she weighs 1 lbs 2 oz. I refuse to share what I weigh. HA! Everything looked perfect....strong heartbeat, healthy kidneys, and brain. She wasn't very active at the doctor but I had to twist Nicks arm to stop for ice cream afterwards (total lie) and she really got moving after a strawberry and chip sugar cone. YUM!

RANDOM UPDATES

**We started to research and make decisions on strollers, car seats, and baby furniture. All very exciting and overwhelming at the same time.

**She moves a lot every day...more at night and when I eat something with chocolate or sugar. For instance, the chocolate Whoopers I am chowing down on right now.

**Although I have tried on multiple occasions, large tops don't fit right....even the really cute flowy summer ones, they pull in all the wrong places and don't have the extra space where I need it most.....maternity clothes from here on out.

**People seem to be nicer to pregnant women...holding elevators, offering their seat, and sharing their mid-afternoon snacks (the last one mainly applies to my co-workers but they have been very generous).

This one (our first born) has become SUPER protective over me. He sleeps by my side of the bed, sniffs my belly every chance he gets, and makes sure I am making healthy snacks. His favorite is sliced apples and peanut butter because I let him lick the spoon. I loved this picture with his perfectly crossed paws:)

Some days I still wonder if I look pregnant to the random stranger on the street or if they wonder if I am just unproportional. Nick votes "CLEARLY PREGNANT" but I think he has the unfair advantage of actually knowing that he is responsible for this baby bump....to which I am forever grateful and blessed!

Here I am...22 1/2 weeks. According to my baby countdown app...yes, I downloaded one on my phone. We have 3 months, 29 days, 4 hours, 37 minutes, and 9 seconds...8...7...6....

Can't wait to meet her!!!

Happy Mothers Day

I wasn't sure if I was suppose to celebrate Mothers Day this year..... but I did!! I got a few beautiful cards from friends and family and Nick bought me an orchid and a box of cheeze-its (a snack I have been craving for several days). The best gift of all.....daddy got to feel baby girl!!!! She was moving around like crazy last night and Nick came over and put his hand on my tummy...she gave him a little kick!! The look on his face was priceless!! What a great moment!

Total weight gain: 9lbs...ahh 3lbs in the last 2 weeks!!

Maternity clothes? Yep, rocking the maternity wear and lots of stretchy pants at home,

Stretch marks? No

Sleep:  Good...but already tired of sleeping on my side.

Best moment this week:  Nick feeling her kick.

Miss Anything?  The usual... 

Movement:  More and more everyday

Food cravings:  Fruity anything...fruit snacks, skittles, smoothies, and even actual fruit!

Anything making you queasy or sick:  No (Yay)

Gender:  100% girl!!

Symptoms:  Legs are a little itchy and belly is growing.

My sister and I got on a funny bib kick this week....here is one I picked out....wait until you see hers!! Baby girl already has a sense of humor!!

Nick said he hopes she doesn't want to have too many parties at her crib at 3am....my guess is we will be attending quite a few (smile).

 

Halfway!!!

YAY for halfway!!! I am in full pregnancy mode. Super tired, out of breath after climbing 3 flights of stairs at work, and hungry all the time!!
I am so excited to say I am on the "back half" of this pregnancy. She will be here before we know it!!We are making progress on her room and hope to make a decision and order baby furniture in the next few weeks.

I feel her moving almost every day and I can't wait until Nick can feel her from the outside. She is definitely a little wiggle worm.

We went to Hocking Hills with my family over the weekend and baby girl got to experience lots of new things. Her first bonfire, first smore (yum), hiking, and her first waterfall. It was a super relaxing, very fun weekend!

Nick made the hike to the top....I had enough hiking at this point so I just waved with my Mom and Aunt Julie. (very visible bump here)

I am still shopping like crazy for baby clothes and have expanded my shopping to baby hats,  headbands, and bows. Nick said he understands that she MUST be accessorized:) I love him!! Here is my newest, most favorite outfit (this week).

I think I love it so much because it isn't baby-ish. It almost looks like something I would wear...but super tiny which makes it freaking adorable!

My Aunt Julie was in Las Vegas last week and picked up a little something from the M&M store for us. This is her first outfit from "Sin City"...a place she won't know anything about for many, many years!!

19 weeks

Baby girls brain is really developing this week. Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. She is moving every day and I love it. We are both so excited about the day that Nick will be able to feel her kick from the outside. That BIG moment should happen in the next few weeks.

We started cleaning out the office, otherwise known as baby's new room. The goal is to have it cleaned out and have furniture moved out by the end of the month so we can start painting in June. I can't wait to just sit in her pink room!!!

I decided to do a quick inventory of her wardrobe the other day. Starting to look pretty impressive.  I still have two bags full of clothes that I didn't have hangers for. Maybe I should slow down with the shopping....nah :)

How far along? 19 weeks

Total weight gain: 6lbs

Maternity clothes? Wearing a lot of dresses right now, mostly not maternity.

Stretch marks? No

Sleep:  Pretty good...bouts of insomnia some nights though.

Best moment this week:  Looking through all her clothes and imagining her in them.

Miss Anything?  I wanted a glass of wine SO BAD the other night.  

Movement:  Everyday!!!.

Food cravings:  Still on a fruit kick....smoothies really hit the spot!

Anything making you queasy or sick:  Driving to work. Motion sickness 3 times in the last week. Puking and driving = not fun!!  Leftover Kroger bags are really coming in handy.

Gender:  100% girl!!

Labor Signs:  I will probably freak out when I actually say "yes" to this question.

Symptoms:  Just a growing belly.
