Fathers Day!!

For Nick's "first" fathers day, I treated him to dinner at a resturant called Barrell 44. It is a whisky bar. Of course, he had his favorite "makers and coke" but he also had a sample of 3 other whiskeys he had never tried before. The food was great and the resturant had a cool vibe. We will be sure to go back!!
He also got a few fathers day cards. I know he is going to be such an amazing daddy. I can't wait to see him with our little girl.
These are a few things he has mentioned that he can't wait to teach her....
  • All about being an OSU buckeye....including play-by-play during games.
  • How to drive (yes, he mentioned this today....as we were witnessing idiot drivers at their best)
  • Good manners....we talk about this a lot when we see kids behaving really well...or really bad.
Here is Nick's fathers day present....

We have already decided that Baby G gets a new shirt every year so we can snap a new photo of her and her daddy every year....she will always be his "I-O"

26 weeks

There is no hiding the fact we are pregnant. I have had lots of strangers make comments this week. Baby girl is growing like a weed (or a head of lettuce). I have noticed that she responds to loud sounds and music and really gets moving. I LOVE it!

I have recently become obsessed with adorable summer linen summer dresses for her. I am in NO hurry for her to grow up but she definitely has some super cute clothes for next summer. Here are a few of my new favorites....
Precious!!

I love this one...perfect for a cookout!!

Pink with brown trim....I can just picture her chubby little arms in this dress!

A few weeks ago I posted the funny bib we found online. This is the one my sister bought....HILARIOUS!!!

25 weeks.....here and gone....

Week 25 flew by! I am a little late updating.... I flew to Dallas, Texas early Tuesday morning and came home late Wednesday night (actually landed at 1am Thursday morning). I was so sick the entire trip. The doctor said I had a bacterial infection and slight ear infection. After a few days laying around on the couch, I am starting to feel better. Good thing...because I head to Philly in 2 days!!

Baby girl will be here in less than 100 days.....I hope it keeps flying by!!! We can't wait to meet her!!

How far along? 25 weeks
Total weight gain: 12lbs....last time at the doctor...haven't even stepped on the scale this week.
Maternity clothes? Oh yes!!!
Stretch marks? No
Sleep:  Eh, still up at least 2-3 times a night to use the restroom and my hips are a little sore from sleeping on my side.....I am sure it is amusing to watch me wobble to the bathroom at 4am.
Best moment this week:  2 days off work of pure rest:)
Miss Anything?  The taste of food....still having cravings but can't taste food b/c I am sick. Makes eating very boring!
Movement:  Her kicks are getting stronger and stronger...sometimes they surprise me!
Food cravings:  Chocolate cake....made a cake at 9pm last night! YUM!
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope
Gender:  100% girl!!
Labor Signs:  No way Jose!
Symptoms: Crazy swollen feet and ankles some days.
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!.
Looking forward to: Third trimester!

24 weeks!!

This is a BIG week because at 24 weeks babies are viable outside of the womb...although we want her to "cook" for another 14-16 weeks. She is about a foot long, the length of an ear of corn (which sounds quite tasty right now). She has eyelashes and eyebrows. Rapid eye movements are beginning when she dreams....CRAZY, huh?

At our doctors appointment last week, I had to drink a super sugary drink and have my blood drawn for a glucose tolerance test. It measures your risk for gestational diabetes...which of course can lead to extra large babies and problems for me. Luckily I passed with flying colors but did find out my iron is a little low. I started taking iron supplements twice a day to help.
Had to gulp this down in 5 minutes....if anything it made me MORE thirsty...for water that is!!

It is hard to believe we only have 16 weeks to go. Nick and I are both traveling for work in June. He goes out to California and I will be in Dallas and Philly....it is going to make the next few weeks fly by and before we know it July will be here and we will be in the third trimester. FINAL STRETCH!!!

Getting so excited to meet our baby girl!!!

Baby's Nursery

Although we haven't even bought the paint yet I can visualize exactly how I want her room to look. We ordered the furniture for her room and it should be arriving in the next few weeks. I can't wait to see it in her room!!!
The crib we bought is 4 in 1, so it converts from a crib to a toddler bed, daybed, then full size bed.
The dresser is a changing table combo....we didn't want or need an additional piece of furniture in the room just to change diapers. We can just get a foam changing table mat and it will fit perfectly on top while she is small. From what I hear, once they are mobile you just change them wherever you catch them. HA!

It can be used as a regular dresser after....I love the cabinet on the side with shelves....can't you just picture a cute little lamp on top?

Here is the inspiration for the walls. We decided against a "theme" but want it to be very pretty, comfortable, and girly.

Of course our furniture is white but I love the pink striped walls in two different shades.
We are going to get busy prepping for paint, painting, and assembling furniture in the next few weeks....more pictures to come.....
