Baby Shower

Yesterday was  my baby shower and it was perfect!! My mom and sister did an amazing job on decorations, food, and making it personal. A few of my favorite things....if I had to pick a few....
the "love knot" blanket my mom made. Everyone got to tie a little love knot!! The baby pool....I can't wait to see who guessed correctly!! I was overwhelmed with the generosity of my friends and family. This is one loved little girl and she isn't even here yet. I am so excited to bring her into a world with so many amazing people who will love and support her...and looks like they will spoil her too :)

I  haven't seen many pictures yet but here are a few....
So many beautiful treats....

pictures of me as a newborn...and more sweet treats:)

My awesome photographer took a few maternity shots before the shower...these are my two favorites so far!!

This totally proves the best packages come with pink bows :)

31 weeks....

How cool is it to be 31 weeks pregnant on my 31st bday??!! This year was extra special since we are getting so close to meeting our baby girl!!!

We are in full baby prep mode!!! We purchased her mattress last week. The crib just needs a baby now:) My baby shower is this Sunday and I am getting really excited.....I hate not being a part of the party planning because I love that kind of stuff but I know that it will be beautiful and all of my favorite people will be there. I have gotten a few gifts in the mail already from friends and family that can't attend....who doesn't like a package in the mail!!!

Adorable pink clothes hamper, super stylish gray and pink diaper bag and fun tummy time mat will all the bells and whistles to play with.

How far along? 31 weeks
Total weight gain: 21 lbs...doctor thinks some could be the swelling in my feet
Maternity clothes? Yep!
Stretch marks? Just a few on my lower belly....hoping lotion will fade them.
Sleep:  Still waking up several times a night to use the restroom and sometimes stay awake....for like 2 hours. Not cool!
Best moment this week: My birthday and the perfect card from Nick.
Miss Anything?  My waist and some of my clothes....
Movement:  Everyday and I love it!!
Food cravings:  Still loving fruit...could eat it for every meal.
Anything making you queasy or sick:  No.
Gender:  It's a girl!!
Labor Signs:  No....and they better not start for at least 6 more weeks.
Symptoms: VERY swollen feet and ankles.
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? Off for the last week and I am afraid to put them back on because I don't want to have to have them cut off.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy....but I get grumpy when I am tired.
Looking forward to: Baby shower on Sunday!

We have our final ultrasound tomorrow. I am excited to see how big she is and make sure she is still "in position". It is so crazy to think she could be here in as little as 6 weeks.....we are so excited!!!

30 weeks!!

It feels good to be in the 30-week range....we are 3/4 of the way through.....crazy to think that she could be here in as little as 7-8 weeks!!
We have been super busy preparing for her arrival. We selected a pediatrician. His name is Dr. Tim. He has had his own practice for 16 years and has 3 children of his own. We got to talk with him for about 45 minutes and felt really comfortable with his practice, staff, and protocol.

The countdown to the baby shower is on...less than 2 weeks.  I am really excited to have all the wonderful women in my life together to celebrate my baby girl....many of them wonderful mothers themselves.

This is the first week in 5 weeks we don't have a doctors appointment. It seems we were going to one doctor or another every week for awhile. Our next appointment is July 25 and that will probably be our last ultrasound and peak at Caroline before her arrival. I can't wait to see how much she has grown. We are also doing a tour of the maternity floor at OSU that day. I hope that doesn't make me nervous....come to think of it, I don't feel very nervous about labor and delivery....maybe I should. HA!

We have made some progress on the nursery over the last few weeks....still putting some personal touches on her room but she now has curtains, a mural behind her crib, and a clothes hamper (Thanks to my Aunt Paula).

I love the way the tree turned out....no we haven't gotten a mattress yet....on the list to do this week :)

The chair we ordered will go in front of the window. I love being in this room already so when the chair comes, it may be hard to get me out!

We have yet to hang the mirror over her changing table and I need a shade for the little lamp.

This is hung on a small wall right next to the door.

More to come soon....it is 9:30pm, which means bed time!!

Pregnancy by Numbers!!

76 days till due date
29 weeks pregnant
15 hours painting the nursery
4 nightly bathroom trips
2 swollen feet
1 bowl of orange sorbet

I feel like pregnancy has hit me like a train the last 2 weeks. Up until this point I didn't really have too much trouble cleaning, moving, bending, and getting around in general.....but now, I have sore swollen feet, a slight waddle, and I am tired ALL THE TIME.

I didn't update the chalk board this week because I simply didn't want to crawl down to the floor and be stuck there until Nick comes home to help me up. HA!

Love the new accessories Aunt Kelli brought over last night....

Love the tiny sunglasses
ADORABLE little shoes....I am sure we can find something in her closet to wear with these!

How far along? 29 weeks
Total weight gain: 14lbs (back to the doctor this week for another weigh in)
Maternity clothes? Oh yes!!!
Stretch marks? Ugh, I did notice a little something on my lower belly...starting the lotion and creams!
Sleep:  Not great...I get up several times a night and lately the 3am hour I am wide awake....praying this passes.
Best moment this week:  Assembling her crib!!
Miss Anything?  Caffeine...because I am so tired.
Movement:  Everyday and I love it!!
Food cravings:  Orange sorbet...still love it this week (Wish I had some in the freezer).
Anything making you queasy or sick:  Nope
Gender:  sweet baby girl
Labor Signs:  Braxton Hicks have started but no signs of labor.
Symptoms: Belly getting in the way, swollen feet, and super tired.
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on some days...sometimes not.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Elated!
Looking forward to: Hanging curtains, pictures, and getting her room decorated and personalized. I hope she loves it!!!

Nursery Progress

I love the nursery!!! It took several weekends to get the office cleared out, furniture moved, and room primed and painted but it was worth it all....then I decided I wanted the wood and baseboards white too!! God Bless Nick for going along with my vision:)

It isn't "move-in" ready yet....but it is coming together lovely! Here are a few before and after shots....

Here is the room before...it was a dark blue-gray and the wood work was a natural wood color.

Primer first.....

Here is the pretty pink...or powdered blush is actually the color :)

And done...love the white wood work and baseboards....

We painted a book shelf too....

And her precious crib...

This is my new favorite room in our house. I ordered a special surprise for the wall behind her crib. I will post more pictures when it comes in....now that the manual labor is done in the nursery, we can focus on making it cozy, personal, and ready for baby!!!!

2/3 of the way there!!

Only 12 weeks (or so) to go....

It has felt like a light switch when I started the third trimester. I am tired again...just like the first trimester. I am staying cool by not spending too much time outside. 95 is just too hot for this mama!! Ice cream and popsicles help too!!

Nick did some traveling last week. He was out in San Diego and Orange County. He found time to pick up a few things for his little girl.
This is adorable. It says "princess in training".

He went to Downtown Disney to get her a pink Minnie Mouse. This is her first stuffed animal and it is so soft and it rattles. I LOVE IT! I know it will be one of her favorites.

Here is my most recent "belly shot". I am standing in the nursery. We are making progress and I will post the before and after later this week when we get the painting finished and furniture assembled. I cannot wait. I LOVE the color.

We are anxiously awaiting our next doctors appointment on July 6. I know the next 2 months will fly by with cookouts, baby showers, nursery decorating, and several other mini projects I have planned.

27 weeks

I am a little behind posting. I have been distracted by the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. Definitely recommend it!! I finished all three books in less than 2 weeks.

We had a doctors appointment during week 27 and baby girl is doing VERY well. She weighs 2lbs and the ultrasound tech said she has a "perfect heart". She is breathing in fluid at this point and can open her eyes.

My mom and Kerri both came up during this week and helped me finish my registry at Babies R' Us. I am so thankful for their help!! Mom also brought a GIANT box of baby clothes....she got a great deal on a ton of stuff. What a lucky little girl we have. Thanks mama!!!
All sizes and colors.....everything is so cute!!

I think this may be my favorite sleeper...it is so girly and sweet.
